Dream Jobs

I've been having a lot of conversations lately that start with the phrase "What's your dream job?" I don't know why that topic has come up so often the past few weeks, but it has. It's really interesting, hearing all the different things people want to do, but something's been bothering me. I've noticed that hardly any of the "dream jobs" I hear match the majors of the people dreaming of them. Maybe not even mine. Why not? We're in college, right? Isn't the point of college to educate us so that we can do things we're passionate about? So that we can have those "dream jobs," if God wills it? Why are we giving up those dreams when we're in the perfect place to start making them reality? No one is forcing us to give up our dreams. We're young, but we won't always be. So when we're old are we going to wish we had pursued those silly dreams? (I bet you're really enjoying all these rhetorical questions…I'll try to stop doing that now.) I don't know, but I hope not. I trust the Lord, I trust His plan for me is far better than anything I could ever come up with, and I believe that He's looking out for my best interest. But still, I can't help but think that college is being wasted on some of us in the sense that we aren't really study for what we'd like to do most. We have so much opportunity, so much freedom, but so much fear. It doesn't make much sense to me.

Matthew 6:25-34

Also, I've recently become obsessed with this song. Listen to it.
